Black or Blue Cold Cathode??

Trying to decide on either the black or blue one from svc. Which one would look better in my case, I have a blue chieftec with a window that I got from Newegg. Would both of them be bright enough to light up my entire case?

I had to decide between those two colors and i decided that becuase they were like 50% off why not just get both. Seriously though you can not even build your own cc light for $15 so why not get both while they are so cheap? but if you have to get one the blue is gonna be the color of a blue led and the "black" is gonna be very purpley. but my advice is just to get both.

Its mostly personal opinion. I read reviews of several cold cathodes and it turns out that pcmods light its the best, and they have it on sale for $25 so I would rather spend ten bucks more to get some quality.

I picked up a Black Light one myself. I'm building a new PC slowly, waiting for AGP 8x and the Next Gen DirectX 9 Vid cards. This weekend I installed my Enermax Power supply after putting White cable sleeving with heat shrink ends on all the power cables. Took me about two hours to do. It should light up nicely when I turn on my Black Light not to mention just look cleaner. I'm thinking about replacing the one rear blowing fan with one coated with special U/V paint that glows under black light...

It all depends on what look you are going for...

PCmods cathodes are the best, hands down. However, I am thinking of getting a red one for my other rig.

Case-mods may be cheaper but they have a $1.00 handling charge

Actually Handling rates are now 50cents, but not listed on the site =).

Also, hopefully tonight or tommorow new shipping rates should be up and MUCH cheaper than what you see now.

It really depends on how bright you want the inside of your case to be. The Ultraviolet cold cathodes produce very little visible light, so if you don't have many items in the case that react with the blacklight it's going to be very dark in there.

I bought a 12" UV cold cathode, glow-in-the-dark rounded data cables and coated several spots inside the case with Krylon's GLOWZ spraypaint. It didn't give me the desired effect, so I scrapped the idea and simply replaced the tube with a standard blue unit. Then I got the amount of light I wanted. Parts.

I bought a blue cold cathode from PCmods for my Antec SX-1030B. Just came today and I must say it kicks ass. It looks so cool I spent 30mins cleaning up wires in my case so its shine would be unobstructed. 😀

My blue from PCmods should be here in a couple days😀

i got me a blue one too from pcmods and it is bright indeed. although, ive been pondering getting another one. I want my case to REALLY light up. 😉

the thing is, i cant fit another CC in there unless i stick it on the back side of my case and have the original one on the bottom next to the window panel. ideally, I would love to have the one on the bottom where it is, but somehow, another light somewhere to light up the top area (since all my cards are blocking the light from going higher up).

one idea ive been pondering was to get a laser LED and stick some sort of crystal ball on the end of it to refract the light everywhere in my case. they are really small and really bright. they complement a CC well supposedly.
