What is the current status of Black Ops multiplayer? I've read they released a patch to address the "lag" issue but it seems people are still having problems.

I had issues on Sunday, to the point where I stopped playing and moved onto another game. I'll come back in a week or so. Its frustrating enough dealing with the constant barrage of RC cars, helos, napalm, etc, but then having pauses in gameplay as well is just insult to an already injured ego.
 
What I've heard is that using Hardline Pro to reroll care packages is overpowered. Anything killstreak-related being overpowered = fail. MW2 also suffered from killstreak mania.

No one bothers to shoot them down anymore. People forget to make an AA class. I was ripping it up with a chopper gunner but there was only 1 person who had a launcher to shoot me down.
 
at least kills from killstreaks don't count towards new killstreaks.

and yes lag/stutter is still there and was pretty bad yesterday.
 
My stuttering has improved greatly! The only real time I get a few hiccups, is within the first 30seconds to a minute where the textures are loading for the entire map. After I've seen the whole map, I dont have any issues.
 
no issues at all here even since release smooth as glass.

level 36 last night and yes I have HL-P and it rocks.. I just dont seem to ever streak high enough to use it haha always seem to get killed right before I would get my package DOH!
 
Not really any issues here either. Of course I didn't really have any from day one :biggrin:. Now someone answer my question, if you get a kill streak, how do you actually access that chopper gunner or that remote control car? I don't get it. I've gotten a few now, but I never get an option to control a remote car.....
 
I didn't have any problems yesterday or the day before, but today the game has been unplayable. Every server I go into I randomly warp around (similar to a very laggy MW2 game) and after a couple minutes I get dropped from the server, and it says steam connect failed or something.

no one reads manuals or look at the key bindings in the game? hell, it even tells you on the screen...

it's defaulted to the 6 key.



That jungle map really lags and stutters, even in combat training mode. performance seems to drop when I go online too. I see more stutter and everything just seems slower. It's like everyone else is running around at twice the speed I am and I never have time to react to anything.

No, I get that, ya big dummy. I've gotten kill streaks, but is there an option to actually steer the chopper gun and that remote car if you get to a certain streak level? Have I just not gotten far enough kill streaks? I've gotten 3 and then another 3 but that's the most I've gotten. I've launched spy planes and gotten cargo drops...

when you get the rc car and use it the car should drop in front of you and then you go into driving mode for the car.

haven't received the chopper pilot one yet so not sure how that works.

Homescreen menu, you can choose your killstreaks.

If you dont choose RC car, you wont ever get it. RC car is 3 kills, just like care package. Chopper gunner is like 10 or 11 kills (correct me if im wrong here)
 
Need to turn on vertical sync and change black ops to high priority and steam to low priority in task manager.

Fast compa will stutter terriblly with vert sync on.

Chopper gunner is just like in MW2. You cannot control it.

Gunship however, that is where you actually get to fly the helicopter (sorta)

funny because i have vert sync on and shadows off and that helped a great deal
 
I honestly haven't seen that much stuttering with it, running it with everything maxed out too, 16xAA and 16xAF and vsync on extra textures etc. I guess I must be lucky though a few of my friends have had some bad stuttering problems. Maybe it's hard drive related? I have mine on my SSD so that would certainly help if it was a problem like that.
