Black Ops Multiplayer Lag

Hi, I was wondering if you guys knew what was wrong with the Black Ops lag on multiplayer. Zombies online and combat training run at 60 fps on max settings. But I can barely play regular multiplayer on safe mode without constant stutters. For my gpu, I currently have a Radeon HD 4670. I just ordered a 6850 hoping that it would fix it.

lag, micro-stutter, or bad framerates?

could be cpu related as well, x2 are very old and slow relative to current
 
you get 60fps in Black Ops with a 4670 and 3.2 Athlon 2 X2??? and I hate to break it to you but a 6850 with your cpu is going to be massively held back at 1366x768. in cpu intensive games you will be lucky to get half of what a 6850 is capable of.
