Black Ops 3 PC Beta

Anybody played it yet? Mine's downloading now will post back later with my findings. For what it's worth I am a big fan of Advanced Warfare.

I only wonder if it will be as efficient as BO2.BO2 ended up running miles smoother then BO1 simply on the matter of how well it uses 4 threads.A Phenom x4 9150e@1.8Ghz delivers 57-130fps and those are the max frames achievable on a DDR2 based 9500gt using low settings at 800x600.The 57fps drop was cause of the cpu but its holding well over 70+ due to the gpu.

BO1 couldn't even touch those frames with my other rig with a E5200@2.5Ghz and with the same x4 9150e it just tanked cause of the low clockspeed.

Here is to hoping BO3 is like BO2.

I logged into steam after seeing this post (first time in months) and thar she be. Im glad they are giving us a chance to play before release for a change.

Just finished a game......and as hard as it is to fathom, it's even worse than the past 7-8 cods. Uninstalling now.

Downloading it on Steam right now,is there like mention of a key after its done downloading or is this for people not downloading it from Steam?

I do own BO1,BO2 so idk if the game just appearing ready to download is cause of that?

The game for those interested is a 11.9gb download.

No key needed on Steam, I just DL'd and started playing. Its laughably bad though, this franchise needs a total overhaul.

I'm tired of all of these futuristic arena shooters. It all feels like a slightly grounded version of Unreal Tournament.

Its looks and plays the same as the first BO, and I enjoyed BO for a couple months after its release in 2010. But this is five years later, things should have improved quite a bit, dont ya think? BO looked dated 5 years ago and this one still has that cartoonish look and feel to it. Hey devs, get a new engine FFS!!!

Matchmaking????......at least the first BO had servers. I cant take any shooter serious without dedicated servers.

Netcode....without dedi-servers who can tell if its crappy coding, player lag, or just the fact that the game is still in beta. *SEE EDIT

All the over the top perks, gadgets, and killstreaks drive me nuts. Granted this has plagued the franchise since Cod4, which was the last decent game in the series IMHO. I used to love CoD and still hold out hope that one day they can get their stuff together and put out a decent game, but this one isn't it. The last one I bought was BO2 and swore I would never buy another without playing it first, thankfully I didnt have to wait for a Steam free weekend this time. All games should have playable betas.

*EDIT: I see they claim to have dedicated servers but I guess like BO2's with matchmaking. While thats better than player hosted games ala MW2, it still sucks not to have a server browser. There was some definite lag issues but that may just be due to fact the game is in Beta atm. Another beta issue was some weird sound problems at the end of matches, it sounded like someone using one of those Minion toy fart guns. LOL

Well I just played a couple games and it feels like a step back from Advanced Warfare to me. The wall running is ok, I mean it's something different but it doesn't feel as well implement and polished up as the exo movements in AW. The game also had some pretty significant stutter on my 970 despite only showing 50% GPU usage but I am guessing that is due to my drivers being kind of old. I got a message upon booting the game that I should update my drivers. I just don't understand why it would make a different when AW runs like butter. I should probably update them anyways just think it's a bit strange.

i want to see a wallrunning system properly based on physics, think Q3 rocketjump plus wallrun. not a half baked system where you arbitrarily ignore physics for x amount of time and then you go back to being a snail.

With it's tiny maps, low player count, and ugly ass graphics circa 2005; this piece of shit should be able to run on a smart phone @ 120fps.

regardless of this game its time for an upgrade you cant complain about performance with that old of a card

Apparently mouse sensitivity is still directly impacted with the FPS. So if your FPS fluctuates your sensitivity will also change.

This happened for the last COD and screams lazy port.
