the "We've Got Hostiles" audio clip sounds great in 5.1!

edit: hmm... guess i'll have to wait at least a year to play! :/ good luck to the developers, i hope the project sees through to fruition!
 
Yeah, HL Source was a bit of a disappointment. Actually IIRC that was why I bought the Silver Edition rather than the standard one, but once I tried it I didn't bother playing through. Too bad, because in general I like HL better than HL2.

Yes, it'll be free.

It's a lot of work, yes, but when you think about it, the level design and everything is already laid out for them - they "just" need to recreate it.
 
I never actually finished HL1 and I was meh about HL1:Source so this is really interesting. I understand the effort involved but 1-2 years seems to be an awfully long wait though. One upside I guess is that my rig should probably be able to play this with everything maxed out by then.
