I have been trying to find a black LX3 for the last 10 days to no avail. I called every major retailer here in the apple, plus checked others like buy.com, onecall, etc.

i was in san diego this weekend for photo expo west for my work and checked with every camera store in the san diego area. no dice.

anyways, this website www.us-appliance.com shows the black LX3 in stock for 419 plus 6 shipping. i called twice and got different reps and they both said they had over 400 in stock of black, not silver.

i ordered yesterday, got confirmation today of the order and am awaiting a shipping confirmation.

so maybe this is a stock of them from a website nobody really buys camera from, but they are an authorized dealer for panasonic.
 
Only 2 ratings on resellerratings, and one of them is very negative.

The price of $419 is not good at all for an LX3...you can get them for much less after 25% cashback on eBay, and even at the major stores like B&H, J&R, and Adorama they are around $375-400 after cashback.

Buy.com has it for $417 shipped (IN STOCK) and they are a much larger and reputable seller than us-appliance.com

i looked at their google shopping ratings which were mostly very good and went with that. reseller ratings doesnt have enough ratings for a lot of vendors.

buy.com does not have the black lx3 in stock, i checked yesterday, this morning, and just now - and i am on the list to be notified when it gets back in stock, though im sure that is not foulproof.

what is ebay cashback?
 
ebay cashback gives you 25% back on all items purchased with buy it now...there is a thread in Hot Deals explaining it.
 
It doesn't work with buy.com though. Even so, I guess you really have to like black cameras to go through all this.
 
yes i want the black version more than the silver version - enough to try a bit harder and wait a couple weeks longer 🙂

I'm with the OP.. if I were to buy this, definitely would want the black one. I need to stop looking though, I've spent enough money in the past couple of months, haha

the good ebay seller was out for a while.
 
us-appliance was good. received the camera today.

b&h also has them back in stock as of today but the price went from 389 to 419 also. the guy at b&h said that this order would quite possibly never make it to the store and just fulfill internet orders as they come in so fast for the black lx3 espcially.
