Hmm, I thought I replied to this thread... are you cross posting? ;)

I really like this and I'm glad it comes in a 3.5" size - perfect for me. I wish they didn't have to put the Lian-Li badge on it... my only complaint. Where'd you get it?

Isn't it nice? I want one in black to match my black Lian LI PC65B. I can't find it anywhere!

You CAN find two of them in stock (as of right now, YMMV) HERE.

When I get home I'll scrounge for some more sources (got mine from so-trickcomputers).

I believe you could take off the Lian-Li logo with a dab of paint stripper... at least, I've taken silk-screened logos off of anodized aluminum with paint stripper before. You'd want to do a little test spot on the rear first, to make sure the aluminum doesn't have a problem with that.

Wow, $34.95. I don't know if I'm that l33t. ;) Hmm, I wonder if the paint stripper trick would work on the Sunbeam fan controller...

For those not as l33t, DealSonic has a 6-in-1 3.5" USB 2.0 card reader that comes with both black and beige (plastic) panels and no logo for $24.45 shipped.

Wow...that's a $10 difference. *pulls handful of change and lint out of pants pocket* $10...let's see what the differences are.

One is snazzy brushed aluminum, the other plastic.

That's about it, AFAIK.

Oh, one question; does it come with the cables to connect it to the mobo? The Lian does.

I can't see it not coming with cables. I'm not even aware you're able to buy usb cables to attach to motherboard headers. There's also shipping on the Lian-Li. It's just an alternative.

Hey, there's one in stock!

I'll be danged; you're correct! It wasn't there last night!!! Really. With shipping, it would've come to $44...a bit steep, although it IS a much nicer unit than the typical "on sale at Newegg, no-name 5-in-1 reader in stylish beige plastic."

I've already gotten confirmation from MonarchComputer that they will have it within "a month." I'm assuming their pricing will be competitive; I've purchased stuff from them before and their prices were very good.

Waiting on Directron to answer my post in their forum...gonna check on it now. BRB.

*edit*
Here's what Directron says...neither here nor there.
