Black Leather Sketchers + Rock Salt= BAD, BAD...Help

Not a good idea to go shoveling in the city in the middle of a blizzard AND wear my nice sketchers. Well they now have the Rock Salt all over them. I've tried washing it off with warm water. I've tried using a toothbrush and some soap to get it out. NO DICE

Anyone know how I can get them black again??

I know man, I know.....

Was sort of worrying about the Polar Bears attacking me, than wondering if my Sketchers could handle it...

Strange, I have had to happen to shoes but it was never permanent! It always seemed to fade away after some more weathering. Then again I don't take care of my shoes very well.

i clean leather shoes on occassion at work, try some shoe polish as suggested, thats why they make it
