My recently deceased Uncle, Leroy was once a white kid.

How many black kids do you know named "Leroy", and what does it prove.

Nice assumptions! Now go find that black man you mention and lets talk. Funny that you actually chose to bring race into this when I specifically mention that it is not proper based on the position and not on racial presumptions.

Obvioulsy it was an accurate assmumption since you think it would be hard for me to find a Black man that has or will make a racist comment or have any kind of racist belief. Spare me. From my personal experiences Blacks are some of the most racist people out there on average yet they are the ones always crying racism.

There you go making assumptions again. Seems like from your "personal experiences" you now have a problem with blacks. You spell it out as a proper noun too. Interesting...

Let's all be boring monotones with no sense of humour to please everyone around us.

EDIT : Looked carefully at the link you provided to the joke, unless I'm mistaken, it never states that the child in question is black. Therefore, there's no arguement.

Furthering your education with
Today's Ebonic word:
Today's word is :"OMELETTE"
Let us use it in a sentence.
"I should pop yo ass fo what you jus
did, but omelette dis one slide."

Anyways, racist or not I don't think it is proper for someone in that position to be forwarding out such emails

Why? A joke is a joke. It isn't anyone's fault that people talk stupid like that, except the stupid people themselves and thus making fun of them is fair game. I don't see people that talk like that making an effort to talk properly either.

Why is it not proper for him to have forwarded that? Well, I thought some of it was funny. Distasteful, but funny. He is the leader of a student law group, and should not be forwarding stupid jokes to his officials and stating that #2 was his favorite. Go read #2. I am surprised that the female members were not outraged.

Something tells me that you wouldn't care, or would even go to extreme lengths to justify, if a Black man in such a position forwarded a similar e-mail that looked to be making fun of someone. I bet any Black man you could find in a place of power has thought, said, or will say something in his life that could be contrued as racist.....but that wouldn't matter to you would it?

Don't black commedians make fun of how white people act all the time?

Yeah, its pretty funny when Dave Chappelle makes fun of us actually. Remember when Eddie Murphy dressed up like a white person on that SNL skit? That was pretty hilarious too. But yeah, white people are called racist when they do that kind of stuff.

The LSU Black Law Students Association on Wednesday called for the resignation of the leader of another law student group for forwarding an e-mail titled "Ghetto Spellin' Bee," which the organization said was disrespectful and offensive to black people and women.

Ghetto Spellin Bee

Racism?

how is that disrespecful to anyone? It's hilarious 🙂

Racism per it's defininition is preferential/worse treatment based on someone's race. This is a joke that doesn't even say anything negative about any member of any race. It's not any different that forwarding " you know you're a redneck if" emails.

I agree. Not to mention that the president of this other group is just another student like them...well, not just like them since he can't be accepted into their exclusive blacks only law group.

The person who sent this out is not very smart in the first place. If you are going to forward these dumb internet jokes, make sure you know who you are sending them to. Don't send them to everyone in your address book.

Regarding the comment about "being held to a higher standard". Please. If he had sent this to just a couple of friends then who cares.

I think the problem is that it's titled "Ghetto Spellin Bee" when it's OBVIOUSLY a vocabulary assignment, not spelling.
