I ordered 4 carts yesterday from megatoners.com. THe also have, what seems to me an affiliate web site eforcity.com which sells cell phone accessories for cheap.

I just got my order today, only 6 days from ordering to receiving, with Christmas in the middle there that's certainly acceptable. Tossed in 4 cartridges, black and color each in 2 different printers and they work fine. Output is as good as the original and at $1.49 for black, I'll never use a name-brand refill again. Thanks to DaveF for mentioning Megatoners in this thread.

I couldn't find any customer reviews on this company elsewhere on the web (ie Reseller Ratings ) but from the positive feedback here as well as their incredible prices, I think I found what I have been searching for: "Toner Heaven."
If this stuff works well with my Epson 740, I'll be a happy man because Epson will no longer have me by the b@lls buying their overpriced ink jet cartridges!

I bit.

I only ordered one black cartridge for my 'Black Fri' free-after-Staples' coupon & MIR, Epson 480 . . . now that I know to unplug the printer between uses . . . one more should last my entire 10 week vacation in Hawaii (I am shipping it out Monday and I'll sell/give it away there).

I guess Meritline is in CA since I had to pay taxes . . . $5.08 total (even with coupon) . . . good deal!

Why do you unplug the Epson between usages?

It cleans itself when you power your computer up or down (according to a thread here). I noticed the black ink level dropping even though I didn't print anything. So to be on the safe side, it is on only for a print job.

have you checked Megatoners?? Their 980 ink is cheaper than 880 which is what I had.

im pretty sure the reason there is no hp, is because hp integrates the printehead circuitry somewhat with the catridge?

I have used probably six sets of Megatoners Epson 740 ink with no problem. The only difference between Epson ink -- and almost every other generic -- is the black doesn't seem to be quite as dark. That being said, it still prints fantastic photo quality which doesn't appear to fade any more than Epson ink. Despite what people have said, I actually have less head clogging with generics than with Epson ink. You just have to stay on top of your printer and regularly print the Nozzle Check and clean the heads if needed. You absolutely don't want to let an Epson printer just sit there with clogged heads. The print heads might dry up. With these cheap inks, the cost of ink lost in cleaning the heads is virtually nil, so check your printer at least once per week and don't hesitate to clean the heads until the nozzle check is good. My Epson 740 is at least three years old and still going strong, but if I would have let the ink run out and/or not regularly checked the print heads with the nozzle check, it would probably have been toast by now.

That is strange. I ordered in December and got my order within 4 or 5 days. Did you write them an email about it?

I ordered from megatoners on 1-15 and had the order on 1-18. I haven't tried the color cart in my 'new' Epson 880, but the black was fine. Got free shipping since ordered 12 between the b/w & color. Great prices!

Well I will not be ordering from meritline again!

I ordered on the 28th of Dec...
I did not get my order untill just about 3 weeks later...

About two weeks into my order I sent them a nice email asking if they knew were my package was or if they had a tracking number for me.

There never was a reply to my email....

I find that unacceptable...that it took so long (they charged my credit card right away tho) and that they did not even respond to my email...


p.s. they charge like $5.50 for shipping but the label on the package was $1.95....
Don't you just hate it when places do that!
Plus slow shipping and poor service....

I will stay with megatoners from now on....had good service with them (great prices as well)
