Black ICE

you know if Black ICE is any good Site
my school used to have it and if you messed with the system files it would restore everything when you restarted the computer

is this worth $40 is there another program i can get that is better>>??

Black Ice is a good firewall, but there are better out there.
What is it that you want to do or protect? Server, home pc, lan?

Yeah, blackice will work for you.

I'd recommend:
NOT using the application protection - just use good antivirus software & adware and keep it up to date.
Turning down the threshold that you get warned at or it will drive you nuts with all the hacking attempts.

ZoneAlarm works well. Tests a couple of years ago indicated that it beat out Black Ice. And it is free for home use😀

Just download Kerio Personal Firewall; it's free and works very well. I would stay away from Zone Alarm. There are security flaws in the free version.

Please point out references to this.. I would like to check this out. I have a couple of systems that use this plus others that it has been recommended to.

I like ZoneAlarm too....I found BlackICE annoying and intrusive....not to mention causing annoying issues with home networking etc.
