Black Hulk: I just heard a few weeks ago about this

Technically, there was a black Hulk. There was an issue around 10? years ago where the Bruce Banner went to Dr. Strange to try to get a method to communicate with the Hulk more easily. During the ceremony, he was possessed by an alien intelligence from another dimension; the sorceror supreme from another reality, the equivalent in power and skill to our reality's sorceror supreme, Dr. Strange. It had killed everyone in it's universe and getting board, decided to conquer our own. It needed a body capable of withstanding the strain of possessing his personality, as previous attempts at hosts had killed them immediately. During this time period the Hulk appeared to be black with white "highlights", looking like a negative image from a camera's film.

That's because it's SHENS. There's no black hulk. The hulk is green. A hulk of any other color is not the Hulk. He would be an impostor. My Hulk is a Green Hulk!

yeap sopposedly there was a problem with the ink (either in getting green or a mix up) so the first few had the hulk as grey.
 
No, originally they wanted for the Hulk to be gray but there were issues with doing him grey from issue to issue, so they changed him to green. If you look back at a lot of 60's villians, a lot of them had the purple and green look, or at least one of those colors, the Hulk, the Beetle, Green Goblin, Lex Luthor (superfriends outfit). Lokie (green), Space Phantom (purple), and so on. There most have been something simple about using those colors in the older printing process, at least by my guess.
