Hey Rossman I was looking over your BF section but didn't see anything on Frys, do you have any on what they'll have going on?

Reverse that logic. If other stores are having a deal, why would your store risk price matching them? If you have a price matching policy, you just make certain the items in your inventory have a different model number than other stores sell. That way, you never are taking an unwanted loss.

Same goes for stores with price guarantees. You can guarantee the lowest price for your customers for X number of days. Then the customers are happy to buy from you, because if they see a better deal later, you will refund the difference. But, if no other store in the world sells the same part numbers, that is an empty guarantee. Costs you next to nothing to have a different number and then you are protected from ever having to honor that price guarantee.
 
Has anyone tried using AMEX BVG for the door busters. As in buy an item the day before, the use BVG to get the difference? Does that work? Will AMEX honor the BVG on items that are only on sale for 4 hours?
 
I may be picking up that Westinghouse 32" LCD HDTV at BB myself (for my brother, I don't have the money for it myself now 😛). $479 is a great price for an LCD of that size (and resolution) with built-in tuner...

I've only camped out for Black Friday once before, in 2003 - I got to the store around 11pm to join a few friends who'd been there for 30-40min and there were already a few others in line (only about 5-8 others at that point though, so no one minded that I joined my friends at the very front). Had a local news crew interview us, etc. Good times. 😛

This year I'll probably end up getting there as early or even earlier (10pm?). Good thing it never really gets cold here...
