the funny thing about these lines is, there's nothing they can do about cutters if the store doesnt manage it, its not a legal issue.

id just walk in and go right to the front.

what would be even funnier would be to wear a fake security type uniform, navy blue, etc... and just stand by the front and see if anyone says anything. lol

edit, googled and found examples of people being arrested for cutting in linem what a bunch of bs. power hungry cops

spoken like the village idiot.....hahaa

isn't that for their safety? mob mentality might cause riots over such things...

Pathetic. I'll admit I was fooled into trying BF once by these forums. Saw traffic heading towards mall area and turned around.

Yeah, probably arrested under the all encompassing "disturbing the peace" and in this case it's true.

Makes sense. Even if they are released later without being charged, they didn't get into the store, the other people in line saw that cutters won't be tolerated, and everyone stays calm.

Realistically, letting people who weren't in line rush the doors when they open is an invitation to trouble. "Arresting" them prevents a situation from escalating.

I make it a point to never shop for anything on BF weekend. Hell, I hate shopping for anything the last 2 months of the year

I remember waiting in line for something only once. It was the release of the wii. I waited in line for 4 hours at target and they sold out the guy in front of me.

I then drove to best buy, walked in and picked up a wii.

It was fucking madness!

I had intended to wake up and partake in the BF crap. but I overslept, woke up at 5:30, went to walmart.com and got the BF deal I wanted a blu-ray player with wi-fi... then went back to sleep

I used to love BF. a few years i went early and waited a few hours. but hell that was when you could and would get really amazing deals. now BF sucks. they have 3 items of the good deals and the rest of the store is normal price.

last good BF deal i got was when teh wii was released and on sale. i woke up late and decided to go to toy's R us. they were bringing out wii's at odd times all day. i just happened to be there when they brought out the last batch and snagged one.

I actually think BF is okay but only if you participate via the web. Hopefully the B&M side of BF doesn't disappear because then the stories of people being idiots will go away.

i camped several days at target for the ps3 (we ended up grilling and getting shitfaced). once the manager gave us tickets, i went to wal-mart and sold mine to some sap in line for $800. 😎

I haven't heard of anything around my parts aside from traffic accidents, but that's kind of expected in this area. I had to work on black Friday anyway, so I couldn't go out anywhere (I have to be at work by the time the stores open). I wouldn't WANT to given said traffic. It's already bumper to bumper eight-lane with cars wrapped around for blocks on a normal day.

Though, we stopped by Office Depot on a whim Saturday night after dinner, and my girlfriend picked up a new $300 printer for $180. Of course, it was a pricing error from *October* that nobody happened to notice till now, but they honored it anyway. Too bad there was only one left in stock 😛

Otherwise, I just got most of my stuff online.

You better hope that you don't get a beatdown doing so. A lot of frayed nerves and short tempers in the line that you are cutting into, I'm sure it wouldn't take much for someone to lose it and attack you.

lol. No you wouldn't. A weakling like you only talks. In reality, you'd just meekly stand off to the side while women pass you by and laugh at you. They laugh at you because they can see in your eyes just how pathetic you really are. I'll bet that's the story of your life, huh, Jadow. Being walked on. Being passed over. Being ignored. Being treated like a neglected pet. It's not surprising, really. The content of your post screams it. Everyone knows this.

You know what? You're alright man... you're alright.

I usually show up late for massive sales. The first couple hours are a complete train wreck, but after that it's pretty tame. A lot of the stuff on sale is crap I don't want, and the stuff I do want is stuff that never sells out. I remember a boxing day sale where 200gb hard drives were only $50. That was an insanely good deal at the time. I showed up at roughly 4pm and there was a huge pile of these drives. I got 4 of them.

ahh memories. downloading pr0n on kazaa

Sears, JCPenney, Kohls, Macy's and others all had their B&M Black Friday items online for the same prices. Morons.

lol, you never heard of such a thing as disorderly conduct I take it? Apply it to PRIVATE property such as a retail store, and the management is who gets to decide what's "disorderly" or not.

i don't understand why kohls opens at 3 am. it's kohls. there is nothing there worth losing any sleep over, they'll have the exact same sale next week, the week after that, and the week after that. i have to wonder if anyone was there?

While I agree with you for the most part, Kohl's does have "door buster" sales that last for only a couple hours on some things - and when you're talking higher-end small kitchen appliances, cookware, dish sets and cutlery... those things are actually decent deals when they're on the door buster sales, especially when combined with Kohl's ubiquitous coupons and discount cards.

I think the really bad part isn't just that people are fucking crazy and wait in the cold for days before stabbing each other over a piece of electronics...people were always that stupid and crazy...it's that the deals all seem to suck now as well. Don't get me wrong, I was never going to freeze my ass off in a tent to save $50 or $100 but are there any deals now?

I think the most depressing thing about black friday is knowing all those sale items are going to be gone in the first 10-15 minutes of the rush, and all the people that wait in line all day did it for everyday prices.

I work at a Microcenter, and we were laughing at management's insistence on Black Friday preparedness because short of a $50 external hard drive here and a $250 32" TV there our deals were absolute shit. Yet we ended up with a line wrapped around the store that lasted from the wee hours of the morning to 5 in the afternoon... all for stuff you could have walked in and bought on any given day.

What made it even sadder were those people who waited for 6-7 hours to get into our store would keep asking "its this price today only, RIGHT?!" We had a big debate in the break room whether it was better to lie to them and say yes, so all their waiting meant something or to bring the cold hard truth down on their heads like a hammer.

I fell into the later category.

If it makes you feel any better, Microcenter generally has pretty good everyday prices. Especially for a B&M store.
