It has been a bust for PC hardware so far.

Frick. Amazon had a 6700 XT for $370 that I was about to order, and they still have it for that price, but now instead of getting it next week it's set to deliver after Christmas.

There is a small chance that the date could be pushed up. I've seen it happen before. Had one recently where it went from shipping in 2 months to in my hand the following week.

I'm tempted because it's only $40 more than the RX 6700 I was initially thinking of buying while the cheapest card in the 6700 XT performance tier they have right now is a $400 Zotac 3060 Ti, but $400 for 8GB seems too much. Gotta order from Amazon since I have like $150 in gift card credit there and plus I hate newegg and will never spend a cent there again anyways after they stole money from me.

think I'm about to order the Samsung Galaxy Tab A7 Lite model WiFi tablet for $100. 8.7" screen - resolution a paltry 1340x800 pixels

Probably only saving $10. @ amazon

My current tablet is an ASUS Zenpad 8.0 from 2018

I have that A7 Lite Tab and the resolution is fine IMO for a budget tablet, except that for some reason I think it only plays Netflix at 480p which is kind of gross looking. I bought it mostly because I like the size though, it works well for something I can read Japanese manga on and be big enough to make out the kanji while still being a small enough tablet to fit in my pocket.

Exactly! Saw it happen in mid October with the Prime Days or whatever they called it.
There was a toy, came in at least 4 different color schemes. Sold for $6.99. Every color was that price. On Prime Day they raised the price of the BLACK model only to $9.99, then offered a price cut to $6.99. A special value for Prime members. Everyday price? what a "deal."

Thing is, I WANTED the black model specifically. So I paid $3 extra for it because I'm not a Prime member. :persevere:

My current tablet has 1200x800, so the A7 will actually be an upgrade! LoL
Me too. I insist on 8" models because they fit in my pocket.

Glad I waited. Amazon had a Power Color Red Devil RX 6700 XT for $10 more that I can get next week and is supposed to be quite a bit better cooler than the MSI Mech so ended up ordering it.

I can't imagine this is going to last long, but newegg has a 6650 XT for $170 after MIR. MIR is $180 but still, a rock solid 1080p high refresh card that should also be ok for 1440p60 for now for GTX 1650 price is a pretty hot deal.

Not seeing the 6650 xt at that price with your link, but there is MSI one that is about $230 after rebate.

The price was there around 12am, but Newegg increased it this morning from $350 to $410.
I see; when I posted, it was strangely not showing the rebate. The current link shows it as $230 after rebate, which is still great for a 6650 XT; I don't think I'd want to gamble for that large of a rebate though.

This 6650 XT is $230 after a $20 rebate if someone wanted to take a chance with a smaller rebate and lower initial outlay.

Hmm. $120 less than the 7700 XT for only about 10% less performance in games is tempting. How do they compare in distributed computing projects?

Reviews say the MSI 6650 XT fans are really loud, though...

Most of the Intel 65W 12th generation has no Black Friday reduction yet! With the right motherboard it has PCIe 5 capabilities! Only the K are KF versions discounted for now!

PCIe 5 could be nice, but with nothing really using it at the moment, so it's just ambiguous future-proofing.

The lack of BF sales for the Alder Lake cpus is one of the main reasons I just went with a R5 5600. It might not have a long-term upgrade path, but I can't think of a time where I even wanted to upgrade my CPU without wanting to do a larger overhaul. I tend to upgrade all at once, usually around every 6 years or so.

Any Dell coupons that make their Black Friday display deals actually attractive?

Agreed, never understood buying cpu + board with future upgrades in mind. By the time an R5 5600 is obsolete for gaming there is nothing on 12th/13th gen Intel that won't be obsolete too. R5 5600 is probably the greatest deal I have ever seen on a cpu. Blows away the $85 R5 1600 a few years ago.

I got my 5600 for $100 - AmEx had a targeted offer with Amazon of use at least 1 MR and get 20% off, up to $25. It really made it a killer deal at that price. Just need the rest of my components to come and I can retire my Skylake system into HTPC duty (to replace a budget Pentium Haswell system).

The BF CPU prices for the most part are for previous AMD CPUs. The Intel CPU have lousy discounts so far!

As said, they've already had a price reduction this month. Also, BF is almost always for discounting previous gen/replaced items to clear the shelves and make sales. It's always been that way.

Don't ever expect the newest stuff to go on great sales for BF, especially if they were only released like, 2 months before (like Zen 4). If you see limited ~5-10% deals on such bleeding edge stuff for BF, then consider yourself lucky.
