Watch out the deals are starting real early this year....the stores want to unload a glut of inventory. Labor day is now the starting point.

That's to get the rubes used to the higher "regular" prices, so they'll believe they're getting more of a discount, when these items actually go on sale. Pay no attention to the man behind the curtain!

I've been buying less over the last few years. Most of the deals are for things I'm not looking for or not really deals at all. I've been getting Best Buy emails with Black Friday in the subject, but haven't looked at them. I kind of gave up on Best Buy when they put things like GPUs behind their $200 Total Tech BS.

Building a PC this year and need to replace the washer and dryer, so it's going to be an expensive BF.

Toying with the idea of changing my PC monitor to a 42 inch LG C2 so I'll be looking out for any BF deals related to that. I do love my ultrawide but oled is much nicer.

OLED/Micro LED is the only reason I would change, but I think 42" would mean 4K.

It's probably foolish, but I am going to wait for a 32" 1440P option. I don't want to pay the GPU tax or always be messing with settings to get ~100FPS.

The LG C2 won't go below 42 inch, and it is 4K.

Speak of the devil...Amazon has the LG c2 42 inch tv for $898 with an additional 10% cash back if you use their prime card.

That's the lowest I've seen it so far. I went ahead and ordered it. It will be replacing my 34 inch Alienware ultrawide.

Since I have a 4090 already I've checked benches of pretty much all games I play and it can definitely get close to 100 fps at 4k except for cyberpunk 2077 unless you use dlss 3.

Yea... we have to replace our range... so there goes all that money. Luckly, I was able to fix the washer, for less than $100, so I'm good there.

I had to scavenge my 24" monitor from my game rig for my desktop, so I want to replace it with a widescreen curved monitor. Hope to find something below $300...

I'd like to snag a Dell AW3821DW display if it goes on a big sale again as it has in previous years. Is it best to buy it from Dell or are they terrible now? I see a lot of dislike for their customer service from folks who bought the fancy new 34" OLED monitor when it came to getting a replacement. I'd typically buy from Amazon but I don't see the 38" AW monitor being sold by Amazon right now except via 3rd party sellers which would probably be a nightmare for customer service.

And what's the best place to watch for a Dell coupon if they run something big this year for a limited time near Black Friday?

Kindle Paperwhite 16GB for $100 ain't bad, might pick one of those up since its dictionary can actually handle conjugated Japanese verbs while the Kindle app I use to read Japanese books on my Android tablet can't recognize verb conjugations when I try to use the dictionary.

Newegg Black Friday ad below. Anything caught your eyes?

God those Nvidia gpu "deals"
  • $730 for an 8GB 3070 Ti, no thanks
  • $510 for an 8GB 3070, gross
  • $480 for a 3060 Ti, and I thought the 3070 price was bad
  • $340 for a scrubby 3060, still over the MSRP two years later
  • $320 for a scrub 3050 that's weaker than the $210 RX 6600
How can anyone justify buying an Nvidia card below the 3080 these days? $730 for an 8GB card just takes the cake on trash deals I have seen lately. Ugh paying 1080 Ti launch prices to get the modern day GTX 960.

Amazon has the 2Tb 980 pro with a heatsink right now for 189 and 5% back if you use their card. For anyone that wants to add an additional drive to their PS5.
