these things are pretty much a pain in the butt to type on unless you like typing on a laptop keyboard

Yeah, I've noticed that none of the illuminated keyboards that I've seen have the traditional layout. Wonder why is that?

This keyboard lights up great, but if you need to type more than a few letters at a time, pass. The keys stick, it's small and it's been just an all around pain in the ass since I got it.

Thanks for the warning. I considered this for like 2 seconds until I saw the stoopid layout. Blech.

Sorry guys, maybe I've just been on a laptop for too long, what's the difference? I mean, it has the 10-key...

I got one of these for a friend. They have hand problems and need a laptop style keyboard. Works well but when illuminated it emits a very slight high pitch whine. Gets annoying after awhile IMO.

from my experience, laptop keyboards are smaller than your regular desktop keyboard and plus the buttons barely push down..

According to the picture, the keyboard is half the size of the floppy disk that comes with it, so the keyboard is only about 1.25" across. Hope you have really small fingers :D

((Yes, this was a joke...they made the floppy picture huge and the keyboard really small for some reason))

Random trivia:

Did you know the QWERTY keyboard layout that we all use was originally designed to SLOW typing speeds? This was back in the day of mechanical typewriters (think hit the key and a hammer comes up and punches the letter). People were typing too fast that the mechanisms got stuck so the QWERTY layout was created to slow things down.

T o be more precise, it was designed to prevent hitting two keyes simulteniosly which would jam the typewriter.

You guys are both wrong. The keyboard layout was named after it's inventor, who just happened to be named Qwerty Uiop.
