Black and White [random lockups]

Am I the only person that get's locked up in Black and White?
The problem is random.. I'll play for 5 minutes then it will just freeze while it plays the music. When I ALT CTRL DEL my comp locks up. Sometimes I can play for an hour before it does this.. It's a major pain in the @$$ when I get so far and the game freezes and I have to restart my computer losing all my saved data..:|

Are there any patches out there that I don't know about?

My system is more that able to run it
It does it on Win2k and Win98se. SE was worse though.

did u get the game burned off another cd?? if u did then somthings wrong wit the copywrights or somthing or maybe just check ure vidio card!!
 
well i have a similar problem except I couldnt get into the game. it'll load up and once the cool black and white video starts, it closes with an illegal operation. Its strange cause I played it for more than a month and all of a sudden BAMB, this happened. I uninstalled it, reinstalled it and same crap, so I gave up, delete for good. I too have a Geforce 2 GTS and i'm on win98se 🙁

Here is the "unofficial" fix...

copy the "audio" folder from the black and white CD into the "audio" folder in your black and white folder on the hd.

that should fix it up.

 
I had the freeze problem also but it seemed to go away in W2K after installing the second service pack. I don't know if that was the thing that fixed it, but I haven't had the problem after 6 or 7 hours of gameplay later.
 
i updated to service pack 2 and it seems the problem has been eliminated. I was playing for about 2 hours yesterday and I didn't have any freezes...
 
Good, but I don't think the problem is completely gone because I still froze last night but it was after 3-4 hours of playing so it wasn't too bad.
 
I had the same problem.... I have a Radeon LE and evidently it's very picky about its drivers. I reinstalled Directx 8 and the problem went away.
