For what tiny entertainment value this may be. A severe storm warning was just posted, then another, and another box across the neighboring two counties.

Your choice of weather radar for western NY. (www.noaa.gov or weather channel, or whatever.) There's a big blob of red tracking due east across the southern counties of western NY. When it get's to the border on the 3rd county over (Allegany County), it's either going to suddenly fizzle down to nothing, else split in two and bypass my community. My community is in the direct path, a 5 miles north of where the interstate enters the county.

Here's one link to the satellite image (bottom of page.)

But, just in case I'm wrong, time to go batten down the hatches (get all the babies back into the barn. Llamas are pretty stupid about staying outside in the rain.)

I'm a few minutes North of Cuba. I love going outside and watching thunderstorms in the spring. And, everytime one tracks straight at us, it either fizzles at the county border into nothing, else it splits in two, one suddenly tracking to the north & one to the south.

lmao, my wife just refreshed the screen. While I was posting this thread, the pink center just disappeared from the center of the storm.

It was weird. Tons of thunder while I was in the barn, as the storm got closer. I thought we were going to get nailed, then it just fizzled; almost no thunder as it passed overhead. Barely a breeze. I just stood in the barn watching the storm out the back door, wondering if it's really a great idea to be in a barn with a steel roof & 2 detached (out of 3) lightning rods. Blue skies above & I can hear thunder as I type this.
