Bitsetting - NEC 3500A

I have a NEC 3500A DVD burner. AnandTech reviews say that this recorder allows bitsetting. I use Nero 6.6. How do I bitset?

You'll have to change the firmware.

Scroll down to the 3500A. I'm currently using Maddog 2.FA with my 3500, works great. It also comes with a tool that will change the Book type after you flash.

Thanks, I also found out by digging through the Nero menus that I can change the bit setting by going to:

Nero Toolkit
Nero CD-DVD Speed
Extra
Bitsetting

I can now use Kodac +R's on settop DVD players.
