If you dont, the second SSD wont matter jack.

i'll kill your IO speed with my controller + 5 raptors in raid 0. :T

get a dedicated controller, and then ugprade the second SSD in the future.

My 2 cents..

ICH10R will still get full performance with only 2 SSDs in a stripe. The controller can handle about 800MB/s total from what I have seen on XS. I'd agree with the dedicated controller suggestion past 2 or 3 SSDs, though.

You can't really say you bit the bullet and got an i7 Extreme if the truth of the matter is you got a sample from Intel for free considering it costs Intel $44 per die to make these.

If you went to an e-tailer and paid $1000 for one like 99.99999% other people out there that's when it's called biting the bullet.

Anyhow, I voted for a 2nd SSD in RAID 0.

yup - I'd agree with that - ICH10 is definitely doable in this situation

I still may do the 2nd SSD - trying to figure out when I want to go to Win7 x64 to be honest for that upgrade... it's going to be a rebuild, so I may as well do the next-gen all the way :)
