Bison steak.

I recently had some top grade bison steak at my sister house and it was the tastiest steak I ever had in my life. Bison is cheaper than organic beef and taste much better than regular or organic beef.

Has anyone else have similar experience with bison meat?

I'd like to give a steak a try.

I had a Bison burger and didn't like it though, of course it was from Ruby Tuesday, so that might have been the problem.

Where do you think I could find some?

I forgot the site I was on yesterday, but they claimed to have bulk bison beef, but then it was only listed in two quantities: 10lbs, and alternator-sized brick of steaks.

I would enjoy trying it, if people claim it is better than beef steak. I love steak, so that would be interesting.

Buffalo meat has a tendency to be tough and dry. It is much leaner meat, but it will turn out like leather if you aren't careful preparing it.

I had a bison burger once, but it was undercooked, and made me feel sick. I'm not frightened of rare meat (I usually order medium or medium rare), but this was a little much. I'd like to try some again sometime though.

Best burger I've ever had was a buffalo burger. So soft, tender, and juicy..very lean and healthy too.

Dumb question. Is bison considered beef? I'm not "allowed" to eat beef so I've always wondered this.

they have a couple thousands

Bison can be big as a car and can run up to 30 MPH!
Are they suggesting Bison as a solution to moving away from oil?

It is certainly leaner and it is not to be cooked at as high a temperature nor as long as beef. But barring screwing it up, it should not be tough, dry, or leathery just as with most any meat.

Isnt bison really lean? The best steaks have a significant amount of marbling. I think i will pass on the bison steak, but bison jerky is tasty!

I like bison. Dammed good meat. Beefalo is hella good when you can find it as well. Nothing will replace Elk as the meat of choice for me however...

True

True

However, bison meat call for cooking at lower temperature to help keeping it moist, and I prefer to have my steak from medium rare to rare which work out fine with bison.
