Good work, they actually seem equipped for crowd control. They had shields, riot helmets, rubber bullet adapters for thier weapons, gas, etc.

I also see several Hippo type crowd control vehicles such as they used in NI.

Contrast that to the riots a few weeks ago in Najaf, where the Marines were woefully underequipped. I actually saw them having to form lines with fixed bayonets, with no proper riot equipment. Someone needs to get on the ball as riots can quickly get out of control.

the brits have a lot of policing experience from Northern_Ireland and they are using this with good effect in Iraq.

Yeah it's too bad we don't have more countries with real experience helping us...why is that. It would be great if we could get for example the South Africans in country. Just about all of thier APC's are designed so that the mines and IEDs as well as RPG's that have been killing so many Americans would be far less effective. Instead, we keep rolling around in Hummers. Oh well.

Well we have APCs(we could use some lighter armor ones), but we would still need hummers. The Army is currently debating about sending its first striker brigade to Iraq because it is a lighter armor vehicle.

the reason why there are not a lot of countries willing to help out is because of the chimp in the White House. He wanted his own little war, now he can solve the huge problems he caused because of his little war.

actually i would say the scene in najaf was actually a positive case. i can't remember where i read this, i'll see if i can find it later, might have been one of the army blogs. they turned away sadr who came down from baghdad and kept stability in najaf without turning sadr into a villain, just an idiot.

this is exactly reverse to what the army did in fallujah which was a disaster. of course, it's easier in the south with the marines and the british. there is no doubt the british are better.

also the apcs wouldn't be supplied by anyone. that's just not a realistic proposition to police the entire area. the british have 12k soldiers. the army probably has 75k in baghdad. even if you bring in the un you'd still have a lot of trouble getting that equipment. the issue is not the equipment, its the inability for the us to convince the sunnis/baghdad residents who have lived the high life compared to other areas in iraq, their lives will improve so they don't kill us.

Are you sexually gratified by calling the President of the most powerful country in history a chimp? Does it give you a hard on? Do your balls grow bigger? Like the cows you've claimed to have fondled, do you go in heat? Think you're a "bigger" man than a chimp?

Or are you simply afraid, so you resort to name-calling?

Yeah, it works so much better when we open fire on crowds and kill people all willy nilly without trial.

My pops has had to deal with crowd control over there.

Last time I talked to him, he said it was a horrible situation for US forces.

They had little or no riot gear, and they are not trained for crowd control, but for conflict in urban areas.

One thing I will admit, is that the US Army has no buisness policing the streets of Iraq. They are underequipped and poorly trained for such situations.

Marines fair little better, but are better trained for such situations.

Fixing their bayonets actually worked though. Here's an article about the marines in Najaf.

For someone with the intelligence of a Chimp...he seems to be doing pretty well as the PRESIDENT OF THE UNITED STATES. Please try not to underestimate people. It will be your undoing.

IMO it says a lot about your own personality if you vote for a chimp like Bush.

Good work
I dont get you, iraquies are piss cause there is no power, water, and order in the city. The first thing the Bush-TonyC did in Iraq was to focus in the Oil, " of the Iraqui people". I think these people feel robbed but nobody gives a damm of it , but if you are talking about the bullets, americans dont have time to change cartrigdes for rubber bullets.
