Will flowers do the trick? Of course not roses (talking about girls we are not romantically or physically intrested in), but something simple, daisies perhaps?

The best gifts for GFs and girls who are friends are of the personal nature. Im sure at some point she has indicated interest in SOMETHING. So, go with that.
 
flowers are weak. A great present is a pair of crystal champagne glasses (suprisingly cheap) and maybe a bottle of bubbly to go with it. Slightly different, will last a long time, and she'll feel like a classy girl. go for it.
