Lingerie if it is something SHE will like, not just that YOU will like on her (or on the floor). I always like the idea of a spa day. find a good day spa, call ahead, get her a massage, facial, manicure, pedicure and makeup/hair then surprise her once she is all "dolled up" to dinner at her favorite restaurant.
That or jewelry is always welcome! 🙂

One key to pulling this off is to make sure she has no other obligations that day, then schedule everything for her in advance. That way she doesn't have to worry about calling ahead and planning, just give her a quick note with the time she needs to arrive at the spa after breakfast in bed and offer to play chauffeur if she likes. I also suggest meeting with either the Spa manager or the person(s) performing the services and take care of the gratuity in advance.

If you are doing dinner out, make sure you have reservations and see if you can arrange in advance with the host/hostess to get the best seating possible. When you're getting ready to leave - perhaps spring a little jewelry on her while she's getting dressed (extra credit for laying her outfit out in advance if you know what she likes).

Finish the night off with a little Miles Davis & cocktails or wine/bubbly, at which time the lingerine gift would be a good choice.

My wife is a big planner so taking care of all the details in advance on a "her" day so she can downshift and just enjoy is key. Good luck with whatever you decide to do!

Day spa FTW. I did this for my ex a while back. The only problem was that they gave her a receipt! She found out that i spent nearly $200. Her guilt factor was quite large.
