Birth Order (In Relationships)

Do you think birth order has an impact on personality? How about relationships?

What's your birth order, and if you have a bf/gf, what is their birth order?

I'm the youngest. 🙂 (uh-oh, here comes trouble! 😉 )

Yes, it has an impact.
The youngest one is always more selfish because he got everything from the parents 😉 Kidding.

I have 2 younger sisters
My gf has no brothers, no sisters (but a wonderful bf 😉)

I'm the youngest and so is my wife. However, both of us had siblings who needed a lot more parenting than us so we both were more responsible/independent than one would think.

However, there is still a lot to being the "baby" and I believe it has an effect on personality

i read somewhere that the youngest kid is more likely attracted to someone with younger siblings, and the oldest kids are attracted to the youngest kid. as for only kids, they're attracted to anyone with siblings, i think. I'm not sure about all of this, but the first one is pretty true. it is for me atleast.

I have a younger brother and an older one who died at birth so it leaves me, as usual, not knowing where I am.

Younger gets the goodies, older the responsibility. Obviously not in all cases but most.

LOL Buck, in my case, there was nothing left for me 'cause the older ones hogged it all!

But, I must say that MY youngest is the 'child of our prosperity'. We are going to try to make sure he appreciates it, though.

🙂

I am the oldest of four and official babysitter of them all for most of my life and Mister E is the 3rd of 8.
what does this all mean psychologically??
It means that I actually have 2 children: My baby and Mister E😀

I'm of the opinion that birth order does determine personality to an extent. But as with everything, results may vary.

I'm the oldest of four, my wife is the younger of two.

I know that my older sisten and I (her 28, me 26) took some hard knocks and basically broke my parents in for my two younger sistenrs (18,14) that huge age difference has made it an interesting situation. My parents are so mellow now, its like they are totaly different people. My little sisters, especially the 14 year old got, really pampered. Im not mad though.

Hmmmm, all very interesting responses.

I do think birth order has some impact on personality and relationships, but of course there are other factors. I am trying very hard to teach them balance, so hopefully they will have the best of all possible things.

My 3 kids are 6 years apart.... every time I sent one off to kindergarten, a new one popped out... A replacement kid! I hope I am not completely warping their psyches...

😉

Read "Born to Rebel" by Frank Sulloway to learn more about birth order and its effects on a person.

I am the youngest of 3 girls and my husband is the middle child - an older brother and a younger sister.
