You are probably just going to prolong it's suffering by trying to help it. Go find a shovel and bash it's head to take it out of it's misery. It may seem cruel but it is a much nicer thing to do. Besides, by helping the bird by feeding it or fixing it's leg/wing, you are only really making yourself feel better not the bird. So ask yourself, "do I care more about my feelings or the birds pain?" Now go bash that sucker's head in!

call the wildlife center or humane society, they'll probably tell you to bring it in...

Call a lawyer for it. Sue whoever or whatever caused it to break its leg. Make you its guardian and then bash its head in.

They'll probably either tell you to set it (and how) or ask you to bring the bird in.

Kill it.

:Q

I'm serious. Put it out of its misery. I had a pigeon with a broken wing flopping around my street for a few days before it was finally too weak to flop around anymore and it wound up in the walkway to my front door. My wife found it and freaked out so I told her to go inside and that I would take care of it. I grabbed a shovel from the garage and whacked it a couple times until it was dead. Then I picked it up (with gloves on of course) and dropped it in a plastic bag which I put in the trash.

My wife asked me what I did and I told her I killed it. She was like, how could you do that? So I asked her what she expected me to do with it? Nurse it back to health? BWAHAHAHAHAHA!!!

I put it out of its misery. I'd do it again in a second. Getting whacked with a shovel beats starving to death. :)

Even if the bird's leg is messed up, most birds can do OK with one leg. If it's wing is messed up, it's pretty much a goner, though.

Unless you keep it as a pet. But that's sort of sad.

Is it a chicken or a turkey by any chance? :D

Um, chickens and turkeys can't fly.

umm, actually, turkeys can fly around 50 mph. IIRC, turkeys need to have their wings clipped to keep them from flying when they're young. After they get older, they really don't try as much and they weigh too much for their muscle strength.

Plus, several types of chickens can fly as well, if their wings aren't clipped.

Only Wild Turkeys can fly. The domestic ones have been bred to the point where they can't fly at all.

<-grew up on a turkey farm.
