I am trying to get a hang on the purpose of the thread. Seems anathema to the thread name ("I love Bioware" <> "Bioware is Cliche' Central").

With that having been said, and given "recent" releases, I would have to say "I Loved Bioware. Currently they are in the dog house and better be thinking about hocking their dog dish for a really big rock."

This isn't limited to bioware. This is the age old story of a hero that pretty much every book/story/movie in the history of the world follows. It even has a name - Monomyth. Harry Potter, Lord of the Rings, the Matrix, freaking transformers the movie all follow this formula. More info here http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Monomyth

They [BioWare] are still the best at making games that seem to correspond to that cliché, it's surely why they're being pointed at. We could also use another cliché and link another company to it, for example linking EA to making and publishing boring games, that's a good cliché for them.

I was going to mention this myself when I saw the post. There is a really good book, "Hero with a Thousand Faces" that is well worth reading. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Hero_with_a_Thousand_Faces
