Biostar IDEQ 200V incompatable with Radeon 9600 Pro???

I just bought a Biostar IDEQ 200V from newegg.com with an XP2500+ Barton, 512 DDR PC3200 and a Connect3d Radeon 9600Pro.

I am getting a black screen!!! With the 9600 Pro in the AGP slot!

The 9600 Pro works find in my other system and an AGP GF4MX420 runs fine in the IDEQ!

Anyone else having similar experiences?

BioStar... ahem ahem not a company i would trust.

But check you had that thing in the AGP slot right, aux power hooked up, ive never heard of a Mobo only accepting one brand of card. maybe you can try a BIOS flash?

The manual from Connect3D is for the 9500/9700 and the 9800 Series, it shows a power cable that connects to the corner of the card. But my 9600 Pro doesn't seem to have the power connector.

Also the 9600 works fine in another system without any power cable hooked to it. Though that system does have a larger power supply 200 vs 300watts.

Try swapping power supplies between the systems and see if that helps.

It's a long shot but you don't happen to have a PCI tuner card in the PCI slot that it may have a conflict with do you? I have a Radeon 9000 AIW and had a Winfast tuner card in a PCI slot and got no video output until I removed the Winfast, just a thought.

I think the power supply in the IDEQ is proprietary so thats not an option... but I'll double check when I get home.

Its a good bet that the AGP slot does not provide enough power for this card.

The BIOS has an option under "Frequency/Voltage Control" called "AGP Skew Control" which can be set to: Disable/250ps/500ps/750ps

Do you think that adjusts power to the AGP slot? The feature isn't mentioned in any of the documentation that came with it!

As long as the mobo connector is the same it'll work. You don't need to fully install the PSU in the case to check.
