Biostar 790GX

got the latest bios with the biostar 790gx 128m mobo but the only overclocking that seems to work best is the automatic options (V6 V8 V12)

i really wanna know how i can raise the multiplier in bios for this board...cant seem too find it anywhere..trying to get phenom 720 to 3.6..

thanks for the help 🙂

ACC = no 4th core for me

is your processor the black edition? to my knowledge, you can only raise the cpu multiplier on amd cpu's that are the black edition.

yeah...all phenom 720's are black edition as far i know...i get all kinds of different OC numbers in AMD overdrive and temp monitoring...i cant raise the multiplier anywhere in BIOS...kinda strange

It looks like you OC'ed by raising HTT? Try leaving HTT (and memory dividers) @auto (or default, 200) and see if it allows multiplier changes. Did you check if there is a newer BIOS for your board?

In bios >

T-Series Settings > CPU FID/VID Control > Custom P-States > Enable

That is where you find the Core FID (multiplier), Core DID (ratio), Core VID (voltages), and NB FID (freq)

You can find some nice pics of the bios screens here http://www.rebelshavenforum.co...et_topic;f=45;t=000147 while for the A2+ the screens are the same (I'm currently playing with a 790GX XE)

In your quest for 3.6GHz hope you'll need that 9700 for the voltage as I'm using a CNPS8700-CU
