biostar 210v speedfan issues

specs first:

210v
sempron 2800+
1gb pc3200 (1 stick)
radeon 9800pro
kworld atsc 1010
winxp mce

the problem is an odd one. i'll explain.

when i have the system running under normal specs, speedfan will cause the system to freeze. the moment i turn it on the system fans go into overdrive and becomes completely unresponsive.

initially, i didn't change the jumper settings for the FSB (too used to doing this in the bios) so the system saw the CPU as a 1.2ghz thoroughbred(sp?). under these specs, speedfan was working perfectly.

the moment i changed the FSB settings, and all hell breaks loose.

i've tried setting the FSB to both 166 and 200mhz, but i still have the lock problem. but when i change it back to 133mhz, everything is great.

i sent biostar's tech support an email detailing all of this, but it's been weeks and no response from them.

oh one more thing, i've used the speedfan version from both the USA and the TW sites. i think the TW version is a slightly higer revision.

any help or recommendations... other than the... "reduce the clock speed"?
