For FPS games the pc is always the better bet; you're just being naive if you say otherwise. Keyboard and mouse is an unbeatable combo. And less you have an HD 720-1080p tv, the graphics will be better on the pc as well.

I too consider the original half-life to be the best fps I have played, if this beats or matches it I will be very impressed.

It does seem really stupid. Not one review has rated it below 90%, and the majority have rated it at 100%. By all accounts this will be one of the greatest games ever made. It's interesting how the game's ambition has inspired reviews that themselves are at a higher level than most, invoking Ayn Rand and Dostoevsky.

I suspect that this game will, by my own personal taste, be the greatest game ever made to date (replacing the original Half-Life in that spot), and nothing I have seen, read, or experienced in playing the demo convinces me otherwise.

I have to agree, I've been looking forward to this game for years and I loved every single second of the demo on the 360. The only reason I'm not getting the PC version is because my rig can't handle the truth but depending on mods and so forth I can see having both versions in the near future. This game is on an entirely different level than 95%+ of the games out there for consoles or PC.

Want innovative gameplay?

Want a great story?

Want ambiance?

Want great graphics?

The only reason I see for this not to sell well on the PC is due to piracy issues and for a game with this level of quality I would really implore people to BUY IT.
 
Awesome. I had some troubles shooting with the pistol in the demo, so hopefully this will run alright on my rig. Im way to excited for this game.

pc demo was leaked last night on the usual bt suspects...I preloaded this via Steam but for $10 cheaper I have to decide if it's worth driving to CC.
 
I as well just got done playing the demo, TWICE because it is so awesome. You definitely need a good computer to run this game well.

I have 3 GB Corsair, 7900GS, AMD 4600 AM2, and there were still times when the game would dip into single digit framerates when massive action was going on. For the most part, my computer stayed at a constant 25-30 Framerate. The graphics and sound are AMAZING for this game. I will definitely be paying 40 dollars for this gem.

If anybody has any specific questions about the demo and/or gameplay, let me know.

unfortunately not, game requires pixel shader 3 hardware. To all who make a lot of fuss about Bioshock: Yes, it's great but have you ever played System Shock 2?? Judging from the demo, the full game will come extremely close to the 1999 classic. Same ingredients that make a wonderful meal with a slightly different taste I tell you. :beer:

don't you have to purchase it to pre-load it? you'd be paying for it twice.
 
Don't expect to use pick up in store option at CC. Lately when these titles have gone on sale they've eliminated that option or just marked it as OOS regardless of actual in store supply.

You can still head to BB for a 110%pricematch, and if you are a RZ member they are still doing the 100-10 entertainment deal and this would go a long way towards completing that.

No, you can preload it, but it won't unlock until it's purchased. I'm not sure, but I think you could enter a retail key to unlock the game after the official release. That way you don't get any disc copy DRM, and don't have to hassle with installing off of a disc.
 
Dammit... In-store pickup is available in every other GD city but mine... Gonna call and see if they just haven't stocked 'em yet...
 
I hate CC. Says they open at 10. It's now 10:10 and their phone still say they're closed... 🙂

There is a HUGE difference between having the game tied to your Steam account and having crap like StarForce forcibly installed on your computer.
