I thought the second Resident Evil film was pretty good! I liked it because it took place in the city with a full outbreak.

RE3 was okay and RE1 was decent.

I hope this is good, the setting and plot of Bioshock are good enough that a movie shouldn't be too difficult.

I'll definitely be interested to see how this turns out. It appears they are compiling a decent group to work on it, so at least it won't be another Bowl turd. It may be the first video game movie I see in the theatre since the first Resident Evil.

The first RE flick didn't feel so much like a video-game spinoff to me. I thought that the development of the plot, characters, and environment were top notch for an action/thrill movie, and Bioshock certainly has all of the elements in place to do the same. Color me skeptical though, it'll probably suck. But there's more potential with Bioshock than with just about any other game I can think of.

Agreed.

I thought Resident Evil (the first one), Mortal Kombat, Silent Hill, and Tomb Raider (both of 'em), were pretty good. I'm sure there are others that I'm forgetting that I liked (I don't have the energy to root through my DVD collection). I agree that Bioshock could really pull it off given that it's so heavily based on Ayn Rand's work and the game itself is incredibly atmospheric.

Aren't they making Atlas Shrugged into a movie as well... Would make an interesting completion.

It could actually come out to be a good movie. The game already had enough substance and style to be made into a movie, you have to suck hard to mess it up.

With the recent game to movies, i am beginning to wonder if the directors actually play the games.

A Doom movie, a Tomb Raider movie, a Resident Evil movie, a Halo movie, and now a Bioshock movie? Where are my Quake and Half-Life movies?!

Could I persuade you to loan me capital to make the greatest video game movie of all time?

Or, if you don't like that idea, how about The Sims: The Movie: Online?

Or perhaps Britney Spears Dance Studio Unleashed: The Movie Experience will be more to your tastes?

I agree....they can mimmick some of the things that were done in event horizon(one of my fav. thrillers of all time). The atmosphere and such.
