I don't want to get into a pointless argument with you...I like Win7 as much as Vista I even like Linux as much as Vista ,they have all been good to me so your point?....
But again, I used ME on my work box for two years and it worked great, without a service pack or updates. So tell me, is the ?works great for me? argument valid or not? If it is you need to retract your claims about ME. If not then you need to retract them about Vista. As to unpolished hmm well nothing is as bad as ME... I have already stated why Win7 is better on older hardware, think I made my point.
It?s improved but it still has serious shortcomings compared to Windows 7. I?ve already listed several of them, yet you seem to continually ignore them.Thats Vista before SP1 let alone SP2,I think any normal person now (that has used Vista over the years) even Bill Gates will say Vista has improved over the years since its initial release, just like XP had a shaky start and SP1,SP2 fixed the main issues.
As for XP, I ran that at launch and it worked flawlessly. With Vista I remember hot-fix after hot-fix coming out because it couldn?t even render games to look like they did on XP.
Are you for real? We have of the most influential people in computing basically stating Vista sucks, his own product, but you dismiss it as some kind of triviality? But hey we all know if Bill Gates says "jump" you say how high
You can claim ME is a good OS if you have had good experience with it, nobody here can prove you had bad experience with it ,and yes you would be entitled to say it was a good OS if your experience was positive because it worked for you,end of the day thats what counts, its like game reviews you can get 1000s of great reviews and go and buy the game and find its crap(yes it has happened to me) so what does count?...simple your own experience, people and members can agree/ disagree with you but it makes your opinion or theirs no less.
I ran XP from launch too even Dos 6.22, how far you want to go back? and we all know XP had issues back then,as for Bill Gates he is only one person with his own opinion and I disagree with him, you know why because I bothered to use Vista for almost 3 years on daily basis, you forget about all those other experience Microsoft software developers too, I guess their time effort and any positive comment means nothing?....Btw if I ever see Bill Gates I would tell him I thought he was wrong about Vista and it was an improvement on XP just like Win7 is an improvement on Vista,as a beta games tester for various companies myself for 3 years virtually with Vista I can tell you its been a pleasure to use, right now I'm on Win7 x64 beta testing(going well) and down the road it'll be Win8 etc...
Shortcomings well why do you think Microsoft keep bringing out a new OS,its not because XP is or was perfect or were those service packs for fun,and if you read my last post I said no OS is perfect including Vista and Win7,yet for most users its not what you read that counts its actual REAL EXPERIENCE with the OS for more then 5 mins...and EVERY MEMBER/PERSON is entitled to their opinion ,wrong or right you'll get from both camps, opinions are just that.
