Did anyone else have countless problems trying to get this game to run?

Mine just crashes to desktop within first 2 minutes of play

Bought both Bioshocks from the Steam Summer Sale, and they both work flawlessly without any tweaking.

Check your Windows logs to see what the faulting module is when you crash? First place to check.

Just to clarify...I bought the disc version, not a steam download. Don't know if this makes a difference in problems?

Well it works now, figures... I uninstalled games for live and bioshock 2, reinstalled bioshock 2... Did not apply 1.5 patch as I was using before and it works (for now)

I'm infact playing through BioShock now on my rig. Bought the boxed version and it's been running flawlessly so far, touchwood! Would hate if it starts to crash later on the game. The game levels feel so unique with all the grim art-work in place.

Bought Bioshock 2 a few months ago. I played it for a few hours and lost interest. I feel as if it's a bad console port. Besides, I found it boring and uninspiring.

No problems getting it running though....

I tried playing Bioshock a year or two ago, I liked it but I had stability problems as well. There wasn't any spot it would crash at in particular, but it definitely crashed often, I never did make it very far into it unfortunately.

I liked both games and I never had any stability problems with them. The only problems I had were key remapping issues and missing sound in the second game.
