Bioshock 2 Delayed

D'oh! - Kotaku is reporting a Take-Two press release that Bioshock 2 has been delayed in order to "invest the additional time to ensure that this title will deliver what its fans expect and deserve."

Update: Joystiq is now reporting that Take-Two is saying first half of 2010. bummer but at least that spreads the games out some. This holiday is going to be busy enough as it is.

I hate to see it delayed but I greatly prefer it be delayed to make sure it's right instead of giving it the Gears of War 2 treatment and rushing it out to make the fans happy even though alot of bugs aren't sorted out.

I was hoping Bioshock 2 or Mass Effect 2 would be out for the winter holidays. Looks like 2010 for both.

Bioshock 2 is going to have alot more competition now in the same genre.... going against both mass effect 2 and alan wake. Atleast in the fall there would not have been as much direct competition. Its still going to be a million + seller but I dont think it will do as well now. This also means mass effect 2 and alan wake will also take a bit of a hit.

It did not get officially pushed back, but there were rumors that before this spring that it would be out before the end of this year. I was just hoping 🙁.
