I've just put together a new system and in windows xp pro it's showing no audio device. My mobo is an Abit af7-s which has onboard audio. Please help direct me to how to make certain onboard audio is enabled in bios. What I've done so far is to go into integrated peripherals and make certain that "audio controller" was enabled. TIA.

Well as long as it is on in the bios (enabled) you should be in good shape but just double check there isnt a jumper setting by some strange chance.

Are there any unknown devices in device manager? If so install aduio drivers off the disc suplied with the motherboard.. Good Luck!!!

Good point. No I didn't. I bought the mobo from a forum member and it was missing a jumper and the i/o shield. I will check the jumpers, but I may have just got a bad deal.
