so i did my research and i found the motherboard that is in a gateway computer that i have, i just cant decide if i should flash it with the gateway bios or the intel. Would there be an advantage to either? and i do have the correct mobo so no worries about killing it

Use the gateway unless you want to break something.

It is a mis-statement to say Intel makes all the boards, or even that of Gateways.

Look at it this way, Gateway designed the bios to work with that motherboard on that PC. You can't go wrong with the Gateway bios.

I had an LX chipset board out of a gateway that I flashed with intel bios in order to gain ppga celeron support. I had no issues with the board after flashing.

So did I. Pretty darn scary doing that bios recovery flash though. For those how have never dont it, the monitor stays black, and it takes a long time (seems very long), and you just wait for the beeps from the speaker. Scary when it was not my PC. It worked fine and gave me the PPGA Celeron capability, and a few more fixes that the Gateway BIOS did not have.
