Hello All,
I just upgraded my bios on a ASUS A7V133a mb, so that I can upgrade my cpu to a 266fsb Athlon XP. I went to the ASUS site and followed all the instructions there on how to "flash" the bios. I used the floppy method and backed up my "original" and everything was going like clockwork. Then I'm at the part where you type in the location of the "new" bios that's on my floppy and I get a flashing warning that the "check sum is different that the original/or current" something to that effect. And it asks me if I want to continue or not. Being brave and stupid at the same time, I hit "yes" continue. And it continued through the steps and it finished with the statement "Flashed Successfully"
I powered down and rebooted and everything seems to work fine. I don't get any error messages or beeps from the system. Never did get any error beeps durring the flash.
So I'm just wondering what and why I got that message. Was it just saying that I was loading a "different" /new bios? Or is it a sign that there was a problem?
If anyone has any info about this I'd really appreciate it!
Thanks,
MrCairo
