I am using bios V1.0B14 Special bIOS (the overclocker one) and when i load windows it says unknown flash type. It doesn't stop or anything but I wanted to go back to 2.2 but when i tried to do it the program said the file was not for my motherboard. Anybody know how to get the old bios back on.

Are you using LiveBios or doing it manually? I would suggest doing it manually (if not doing it already). I had to delete the autoexec.bat file on my boot disk and run the flash program manually when I first flashed to OC BIOS (it couldn't find the BIOS file). Maybe you can override it this way and force it to flash anyway.....good luck.

I was doing it manually because live bios did not do anything. I will try running the boot disk w/o the autoexec to see if that helps.

a floppy made with format A:/s on a win 98 machine is the way to go.

Try Clearing CMOS then "reflashing" A friend had the same problem and it worked for him. My MB has the same message no matter what version of bios i use "unknown flash". Figured it was a hardware/motherboard issue. Everything works fine so i dont worry about it

Edit:: That "unknown flash" is displayed while booting after listing devices in boot up. It then boots normally into windows. Not seen during the actual "flash of Motherboard. That "clear CMOS" has worked for several problems with the bios for me -et al giving me back all of my fsb settings in bios.
