[*]Full description of the problem and symptoms

Hi guys, I'm in desperate need of your help. I just put a pc together and It seems that my motherboard (MSI P7N) doesn't yet support the cpu (Intel Intel Core 2 Quad Q9550). So I need a BIOS update. (from 1.1 to 1.3) I replaced the Q9550 with a C2D E6600 so I can get past the boot screen. Ive installed Windows Vista 64-bit and put the MSI BIOS 1.3 files in my C drive (as the readme of the BIOS Update sais sais) Now for some reason when i boot via a boot Win ME disk I can't change to my C: Drive. (Invalid drive specification.)

So I can't update my BIOS...

[*]My hardware

  • MOBO : MSI P7N
    CPU : INTEL Q9550
    MEM : 2x 2GB GEIL BLACK DRAGON
    HDD : 2 x 500 GB BARRACUDA 7200.11 (SATA300)

    Any help is welcome

Vista uses the NTFS file system by default which WinME can't read. But why are you trying to boot with a WinME disc?
