Ok, first off I have some idea what I am doing except for the whole bios update thing.

I have an ASUS A8N-SLi Deluxe with 1002 on it and I am trying to go to 1016 (or if anyone has any better recommendations......).

When I put in a floppy disk (I have 10 of them and they all do the same thing) an error comes up and says, "A:\ is not accessible. No ID address mark was found on the floppy disk."

How am I to update with no floppy?

Please, if there are any replies, make them detailed as I am not literate :p

There should be a Windows version bios update program.
Go into bios and re-set to "default optimized settings" first (no: over-clock or over-volt).
Reboot into Windows and run the bios update from there.

Download Asusupdate version 7.09.04 :
http://www.station-drivers.com/page/asus/asusupdate.htm
Then run update, using: "a copy of the update file downloaded to the HD".
To be safe, use a system battery backup, otherwise known as "uninterruptible power supply". Would safeguard the system in case the local electric utility went down at that moment.
