BIOS TWEAKING

Hi, I've got a Athlon 850 on a FIC AZ11 mobo. I know I need to upgrade it...😉 but until I do I want it to run faster. Is there a BIOS tweak guide out there somewhere that I can use to optimise my bios settings? When I built the computer about a year ago I just left all the bios stuff alone. I don't think that my PC is running at it's full potential, so I wanna try changing the bios settings but I don't know which ones to change! Help?

You can go in there and poke around, most of it is self-explainatory. Best to change one setting at a time, reboot and see if everything still works ok. You should be able to kick the FSB up a bit, and overclock the chip itself a bit, and up the speed the memory runs at. But overall what you will get for your trouble is usually an unstable system, so don't be surprised at that. It's worth it to learn about the BIOs, so tweak away. You can always go back in and use the default option if things mess up for you.

I changed a few settings around and I got a 21.3 fps increase in Q3A!!!!!!!! Now I get 104.3 in demo001. I had my bios all screwed up. It's running a lot better now. Thanks a lot bacillus!🙂
