BIOS settings.

i am going to be buying a new pc soon and i was just wondering about the bios settings.
i wont be putting it together myself, but i will obviously check it myself once i boot it up at home. The reason im making this post is because im new to the hardware scene and i want to know how things will be set up at default settings when i boot up. such as will i have to adjust anything in terms of my video card core Mhz or ram or anything. I dont plan on overclocking, so will everything be set to the best it can when its installed?

Almsot all BIOSes today are auto-detect. Thus, you shouldn't have to change anything to get your default settings. Some motherboards (such as my MSI K7N2 Delta-L) have a jumper that determines maximum front side bus (FSB), CPU speed, etc... Since you're getting the system put together, all of this will be taken care of.

By buying a computer pre-assembled, you will probably be getting a BIOS set to the most stable settings. While these are not necessarily the BEST settings, there are generally only negligible differences between the fastest settings and the most stable settings unless you are a hard core over-clocker.

When you get it home, boot it up and check that the correct amount of RAM is installed and that the correct CPU is detected. If the RAM and CPU are correct during the power-on self test, you shouldn't have to change any BIOS settings.

Your video card will not be controlled through the system BIOS. It has its own BIOS chip that determines the core and memory speeds for the card. The video card will run at its stock speeds just by putting it in. You won't have to change anything.
