Hi

I have a Asus Striker Extreme motherboard. After hours and hours problem solving to get the pc up and running I have another problem.
When I remove the AC power cable the bios settings are reset to default.
Anyone knows the solution or what's causing this?

Either the BIOS battery is dead (or loose, installed up side down, or the battery contact pins are bent) or the BIOS reset jumper is on the wrong pins.

or the boards gone bad.

1. buy a new battery and replace that one with the new one, test to see if it keeps the settings.
2. if it won't work, send the mobo back (if within return time, if not rma it if its under warranty)

The BIOS reset jumper is set on pins 1 and 2.
But I have read on several forums that the jumper should be on 2 and 3.
What's the correct setting? Does anybody knows? Some forums says that it is in fact a fault in the manual. The jumper should be on 2-3 not on 1-2 as said in the manual according to some people.

check your manual and go by that, or download the manual from ASUS and see if it and yours match.

If the jumper is in the clear bios position, the computer will not work at all, or that's how it's been up to now.
