I have a K8N Neo2 Plat...
Ok, so I was messing around ducting winter air on my CPU HSF. I noticed if I had the CPU cold, and went into the BIOS, the temps would say around 40c. Under normal conditions, it would say 40c also.
If I booted WinXP first, and then ducted the air, the temps would drop.
So, I disconnected the CPU fan on the HS (I left a case fan blowing at it though). I let the temp get to 68c. I then quickly rebooted, went into the BIOS, and it says 40c!! So I boot WinXP, check the temp... 42c with no fan on the CPU.
I then connect the fan on the CPU HSF. Temp drops to 30c. Run Prime95 for a while, it says 38c now. Normally with Prime95 running, it says ~48c.
So... by booting with a hot CPU, then connecting the fan in WinXP, my temperatures are magically 10c cooler!
So my conclusion is that I cannot get an accurate temperature reading with this board.
Anybody else notice this?
