Bios Problem im in dire need

So I went to the Asus website to get a bios update for my Aus a7s266 and I dl it and follow the instructions, save the bis then updated. Now my computer wont boot. Please help me if you can. Im so pissed off

Take out all the components but video and ram... MAYBE it's an expansion card that's causing the problems. Something tells me that the flash didn't go so well.... was your computer overclocked at the time or anything?

it was oced only the FSB but i got the bios right off the asus site, friggin asus bastards, and its onboard video, no expansion cards are in when I tried

When it powers up, even though it's not booting, after a short wait does, the floppy drive access light come on? If so, then if Asus has a bad flash recovery procedure you could try to get it to reflash itself.

The Award bios recovery procedure was to make a floppy with an special autoexec.bat, the flash program and the bios file named a certain way. Insert the floppy and reboot. It would run the program and try to reflash the bios without any prompts. If it takes, you reboot the system after a period of time, and see if it wakes up.

floppy doesnt come on, the CD one does tho and I have the means to burn a cd...

I bought the mobo from someone else and they didnt send me the CD cuz the asus sight says the CD can correct it but the software I couldnt find it to be downloadable

HELP

here you go.

wow I didnt realize how easy it is to replace the bios! and I can put any brand in! Im gunna look for the best OC bios I can buy, then pry out that nasty chip and put in a kick *** bios or maybe just order the same one lol

Thanks alot man

I still want to see if I can fix it the free way first ( I have enough to replace but I would rather get some other components for my ain rig)

Well another option is to make the bootable floppy with the flash utility on it and then use either nero or easy cd creator to make a cd which emulates a floppy.

Yes. I dont have the CD though. I bought the board off of a FS/FT board over at . ANd I would just reflash (I made a copy of the original) but I dont get a video signal. Im gunna call my local PC shop and see if they can reprogram my chip and if not Im ordering a new one with a bios savior. Thanks for all the help

Thanks, but I realized that initially. I'm not exactly a forum newbie, just hoping to hear from ChappyChaps11.

Thanks for the tip. I know how to use PMs. I just don't like the system here - no email notice when a PM is received. Thus, posting may get someone's attention better.
