...could be any other reason as to why it does not remember settings?
Perhaps one in ten boot-ups it remembers.
Thanks

It came with PC, 6 months old.
I checked it in my PDA: 100%
Is contact problem the only possibility?
I slided it in and out several times,
what else can I do with the bloody thing?

Fern, I'll check it tomorrow.
Have to go to bed now, my alarm clock springs into action in 5 hours...

This is known problem with K7S5A boards, CMOS gets deleted at the moment of switching on,
current flows somewhere it should not...

This workaround works for me 100% :

Press "Reset" and keep it pressed.
Press and release "On"
Release "Reset" after a couple of seconds.

Hope it is of help to someone out there, it was driving me mad.
