When I reboot (Win98-Asus Board) it sometimes stops before post. If you hit reset it will continue like nothing happened?? Wondering if its a problem with bios? Will also do this with a boot disk.
Any ideas?
are you getting any beeps from the board that would indicate a specific problem? first thing to try is resetting the cmos. if its a problem with the actual bios version you're running, it will require a flash.
No beeps or anything. Just hangs until I hit reset. No pattern as to when it will hang. No idea how long its been doing it. Didn't notice until I was loading some software and it required rebooting.
first try resetting the cmos and see if that helps. you might also consider testing your ram with memtest (http://www.memtest86.com/). it could also be a dying power supply. do you have another you could use to test that?
