I just got a new barton 2500 which i popped into my asus a7n8x deluxe rev 2.

the fsb was set at 100, when it booted, so i restarted it and set it at....200...stupid me. now it wont post, i cleared the cmos seeveral times, and still no post.

i read that hotflashing the bios mite help. i've hotflashed a bios before but it was using two exactly the same motherboards. i was wondering if it was possible to use a different motherboard for the hotflashing (an epox 8kha+)

TIA

yes, it can be done with bios chips from diff mobos.

I tried to flash a A7N8X Delux using the chip from an Epox 8RDA+ and it wouldn't work,it may have been because of the flash utility I tried to use, but I got it to work using the bios chip from a A7N266-VM. The 2 Asus boards both use the same flash utility.

I think it is just a matter of having a bios chip of the same type and capacity.
